Iredell County Schools Closed Friday Ahead Of Hurricane Florence
All Iredell County schools will be closed Friday, Sept 14 as Iredell County declares a state of emergency ahead of Hurricane Florence.

MOORESVILLE, NC — All schools in Iredell County will be closed Friday for students and staff after the county declared a state of emergency due to Hurricane Florence, school districts announced Thursday afternoon.
“The Chairman of the Iredell County Commissioners has declared a state of emergency for Iredell County due to the pending arrival of Hurricane Florence; therefore, Mooresville Graded School District has cancelled school for all students and staff tomorrow, September 14,” Mooresville Graded School District said in a statement. “Additionally, MGSD school facilities will be closed through the weekend.”
Iredell-Statesville Schools will also be closed, the district said. All afterschool programs Thursday afternoon will run on a normal schedule it said.
