Iredell Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Hit-And-Run
ICSO said Travis Deon Campbell, 42, intentionally struck a Harmony man with his truck as the victim crossed a road Friday.
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — An Iredell County man was arrested and now faces multiple charges including attempted first degree murder following what the Iredell County Sheriff's Office is describing as an intentional hit-and-run of a man with whom he had "ongoing issues."
The April 24 incident occurred near the intersection of Harmony Highway and Mount Bethel Road.
Witnesses called 911 to request medical assistance for the pedestrian, who was later identified as Joshua Shwayne Ramseur of Harmony. Responding officers found Ramseur lying on the ground in a driveway, ICSO said.

Witnesses told investigators that the suspect in the case was driving a truck described as a white Chevrolet S-10, and fled the scene after striking Ramseur, before returning to a nearby convenience store where he was waiting in the parking lot.
"Deputies received additional information about the suspect calling into report that someone had pointed a firearm at him," but failed to notify the 911 operator he had struck him with his vehicle, ICSO said.

According to the sheriff's office, investigators learned that the suspect, who was identified as Travis Deon Campbell, 42, of Harmony, was traveling south on Harmony Highway when he made an erratic U-turn before turning onto Mount Bethel Road as Ramseur was crossing the road.
"The suspect truck turned onto Mount Bethel Road at a high rate of speed, spinning tires, and striking the victim causing serious injury," and then continued driving away from the scene, the sheriff's office said.
"More information was later learned about an ongoing issue between Campbell, and the victim," ICSO said.
Ramseur was treated by medic at the scene, then transported to a local medical facility. He was later transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Campbell was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. He was charged with felony attempted murder; felony assault with a deadly weapon with Intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury; and felony hit-and-run leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries. His secured bond was set at $250,000.
