Iredell Men Face Meth Charges Following Traffic Stop Bust

Deputies conducting a traffic stop on Wilkesboro Highway found methamphetamine in two locations inside the vehicle, ICSO said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Two Iredell County men were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine recently after sheriff deputies located the narcotic inside their vehicle during a traffic stop, according to authorities.

The Feb. 17 incident prompted by the traffic violation occurred on Wilkesboro Highway at Isaac Road around 11:30 a.m., according to a report by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

During the stop, the officer requested the driver walk with him to his patrol vehicle, which is when he “detected additional criminal indicators,” ICSO said.

“After questioning the driver briefly a search of the vehicle was conducted,” and methamphetamine was found in the front passenger seat area where Gregory Stephen Combs, 30, was sitting, as well as in the back passenger seat area where Brandon Louis Barras. 36, was sitting, ICSO said.

Combs, of Harmony, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His secured bond was set at $1,500.

Barras, of Union Grove, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His secured bond was set at $5,000.

The driver of the vehicle received a ticket for the traffic violation and was released, ICSO said.
