Teens Charged After Break-In, 4-Wheeler Hotwire Attempt: Sheriff
Four Iredell County teens were charged after they were seen running from an outbuilding that had been broken into, the sheriff said.
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Four Iredell County teens were charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after they were seen running away from an outbuilding Wednesday, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
The July 3 incident occurred at a home located at 224 Alpine Circle in Statesville, ICSO said.
“The homeowner’s son told the responding deputies, he had come to the residence to get a boat,” ICSO said in a report. When it arrived, however, he saw a BMW parked near the home. When he pulled into the driveway, he then saw the four suspects running from behind an outbuilding.

The suspects ran to the BMW, and the homeowner’s one recognized one of the young men as Alex Evans, who had been an employee of his father’s, ICSO said.
“The reporting person caught up to the suspects, and spoke with Evans,” who claimed he was there to work on a four-wheeler. The homeowner’s son took a photo of the car’s license plate before the suspects drove away from the home.
