Isolated Flooding Possible As Warm Weather Returns To NC

Cold is moving out and temps in the 50s will bring rain and possibly isolated flooding, the National Weather Service said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — After several days of frigid overnight lows, warm air is moving into North Carolina, pushing the overnight temperature into the 50s and bringing with it the possibility of rain and the chance for isolated flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

The heaviest rain is expected overnight and Thursday morning, with rainfall totals from 1 to 2 inches expected in most locations and up to 3 inches near the mountains, the weather service said.

“The heavy rain falling on moist ground could produce isolated flooding in flood prone areas,” NWS said.
