• Town of Mooresville begins overnight parking enforcement (iredellfreenews.com) — If you park overnight in downtown Mooresville, new rules start Oct. 1 restricting parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. in several public lots near Church Street, Liberty Park, and the Charles Mack Citizen Center, with towing possible for violators. One Church and Iredell lot and on-street parking remain available, and late-shift employees can get special passes through their employers.
   

• National Custodian Day sparks nationwide recognition (rollingout.com) — Mooresville is one of 11 cities nationwide hosting an in-person appreciation event for custodial and facility workers around National Custodian Day on Oct. 2. The Behind the Scenes of Clean initiative will recognize local teams whose daily work keeps schools, hospitals, offices, and public spaces running, and residents are encouraged to thank custodial staff in their own workplaces and community.
   

• Frustrated, 'under duress' Davidson reverses I-77 toll lane opposition (lakenormanpublications.com) — Mooresville residents are indirectly tied to Davidson's reluctant reversal on I-77 South toll lanes because local Sen. Vickie Sawyer sponsored the legislation pressuring towns to support the project or repay planning costs. Davidson leaders say they still oppose the tolls but voted to avoid a multimillion‑dollar hit to taxpayers, raising broader concerns about state overreach in regional transportation decisions.
