MOORESVILLE, NC — A 16-year-old who reportedly ran away from a Mooresville group home has been located in Greensboro, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Kelsie Jane Prevatte, 16, was reported as a runaway June 30 after she was seen leaving the group home on foot, according to authorities. She was the second teenager to be reported missing from a Mooresville area group home in June.
Prevatte then "went to a nearby business, where she borrowed a phone from an employee there," the sheriff's office said in a statement earlier this week. From that borrowed phone, she then sent text messages and called several people.
