MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man was arrested and is now facing numerous drug charges after he sold undercover officers marijuana “wax,” the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

“This type of cannabis/marijuana wax is one of the most sought-after concentrates due to the highest quality versions contain a THC content that’s equivalent to 15-20 marijuana cigarettes,” Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a statement. “While there are marijuana plant strains available with a THC content up to 30 percent, many of these wax concentrates contain over 90 percent THC.”

According to ICSO, authorities launched a surveillance operation after receiving information that Christopher David Zamarripa, 29, was distributing marijuana “wax” in the Lake Norman area.

“During the month of July, Narcotics Investigators were able to purchase approximately 64 grams of 'Wax' with a value estimated at $1,600.00 from Zamarripa,” ICSO said.

On Aug. 1, deputies executed a search warrant of Zamarripa’s home at 123 Michigan Drive in Mooresville, where they located more quantities of the drug, which they said had a street value of nearly $2,000.
