Neighbor’s Vacant House Set On Fire, Iredell Man Charged: Sheriff
James Adam Woodside, 36, was charged with felony burning and larceny, the Iredell County sheriff said.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — An Iredell County man was arrested late last week and charged with breaking into and setting fire to a vacant home on his neighbor’s property, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities received an emergency call reporting the Feb. 6 fire at 449 Abner Road in Stony Point shortly before 4 a.m.
“Once the fire was extinguished, the Iredell County Fire Marshall’s Office conducted an investigation to determine the origin of the fire,” ICSO said. “The Fire Marshall’s Office quickly determined the fire was set intentionally, and requested the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office to respond to the scene.”

The home had been unoccupied “for some time,” the sheriff’s office said. The homeowner, who lives in Charlotte, told authorities that no one should have been inside the home or on the property.

“During the course of the investigation, detectives gathered evidence, which identified James Adam Woodside of 520 Abner Road in Stony Point as the person who intentionally started the fire,” ICSO said.
Woodside was arrested Feb. 7 on warrants for felony burning and misdemeanor larceny and was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center.
