Old Chicken, Need Of Cleaning: What Mooresville Inspections Found
Recent kitchen inspections found a range of infractions, including expired food and employees handling fries without gloves.

MOORESVILLE, NC β Health inspections in six Mooresville area restaurant kitchens last week turned up numerous violations, including old food, kitchens in need of cleaning and food held outside of the proper temperature.

All recently inspected restaurants in Mooresville kept their "A" health rating, however multiple violations were found.

A Jan. 7 inspection at Dairy Queen on Medical Park Road found six violations, including a pack of chicken kept past its expiration date, rust on shelving, and areas of the kitchen in need of cleaning. A Jan. 8 inspection at Patisserie, which also kept its βAβ grade, also noted six violations, including cheese held at temperatures slightly above proper holding temperatures and several non-food-contact surfaces in need of cleaning.

At McDonaldβs on Brawley School Road, a Jan. 2 inspection revealed five violations, including rehydrated cooked onions kept an hour past their discard time, a manager working on the food line without a hair restraint and two employees with nail polish handling fries without gloves.
