Old Food, Unwashed Hands: Mooresville Kitchen Inspections
Recent Iredell kitchen inspections found dirty shelving, old food and unwashed hands. How clean is your favorite restaurant?

MOORESVILLE, NC — Cracker Barrel, Sonic Drive-In and Sagebrush restaurants in Mooresville all saw deductions in their health ratings recently after inspectors found a range of infractions, from dirty shelves to employees not washing their hands.

At Sonic Drive-In, an inspector deducted points from the restaurant’s score after employees were seen entering the kitchen and not wash their hands, and an employee prepared a drink and drank it at a food preparation table. Multiple items of kitchen equipment, such as shelving, was found to be in need of repair or replacing, the inspection report said.

An inspection at Cracker Barrel found several metal and plastic food containers stacked and stored while wet, built-up food residue on shelving and debris in need of cleaning in a walk-in freezer. At Sagebrush, a batch of chili was found at potentially hazardous temperatures, and chicken salad and cooked ribs were thrown away after they were found to be passed their seven day shelf life.
