Rockingham County Man Busted For Heroin Trafficking In Iredell
The Reidsville man was charged with trafficking heroin just four days after he posted bond for similar charges in Rockingham County.
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A traffic stop in Statesville last week led to felony drug trafficking charges for a North Carolina man, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
ICSO deputies were called to assist with a traffic stop in the 800 block of Turnersburg Highway in Statesville July 12.
“A driver’s license check of the driver of the truck, Nicholas Brandon Ward, indicated he was wanted out of Rockingham County, and to approach with caution if encountered,” ICSO said in a statement about the incident.

Ward, 36 and from Reidsville, North Carolina, was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The traffic stop was four days after he was released on a $500,000 bond for trafficking heroin in Rockingham County, ICSO said.
He was detained on the outstanding warrant, and deputies found what was described as “a large quantity” of heroin in his truck at the time of the stop.

Ward was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and charged with felony trafficking of heroin by possession; felony trafficking of heroin by transport; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
His secured bond was set at $800,000.
