Salisbury High School Student Arrested For Making Shooting Threat

A 14-year-old student at Salisbury High School was arrested after making threats to "shoot up" the school, according to a report.

SALISBURY, NC — A 14-year-old high school freshman was arrested and charged by Salisbury police for making threats to “shoot up” the school, which led the school to spend two days on lockdown, according to reports.

The juvenile, who has not been identified, made the threat on Facebook under the name Ray Andreas and by cloning another social media threat out of Ohio threatening a school shooting, The Salisbury Post reported.

“This was an isolated incident involving only one student and no further arrests are anticipated at this time,” the Salisbury Police Department said in a statement.

Salisbury High School principal Luke Brown told parents the Ohio threat was directed at another high school with the initials SHS, WBTV reported. "You never want to have a situation when you have to investigate things like this especially after the tragedy in Parkland, Florida, but I couldn’t have asked any more of my staff or my students,” Brown told parents.
