MOORESVILLE, NC — Scammers claiming to represent the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office are targeting area residents and demanding money, ICSO said.
“It has come to our attention today, several Iredell County residents have received telephone calls from a person claiming to be ‘Deputy Grubb,’ and ordering the citizens to pay a civil judgement against them by making payments to him with cash or debit type cards,” ICSO said.
“This is a SCAM,” ICSO said, which added there’s no deputy on staff with that name.
