Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

  1. Don't forget, if you are looking to get rid of your Christmas tree, the Shriners will pick it up! "The Lake Norman Shrine Club is holding its third Christmas tree pick-up fundraiser for Shriners Hospital starting next week. Since we've received such a positive response from the community, we're doing it again this year AND the Lincoln County Shriners are going to help out on the Denver side of the Lake. More people involved = more trees collected = more $$ raised for Shriners Hospital = creating a better fish habitat in Lake Norman. We ask for a $20 donation (any gift is accepted) to Shriners Hospital then we partner with the LNWC to drop them in Lake Norman as fish attractors. This project supports children and is environmentally friendly on multiple levels. For contact/ registration purposes in Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius, Troutman and Huntersville, we have our new website listed on the flyer. People can visit our site and click on the "Christmas Tree Sign Up Form" (Google form) lknshrineclub.com" (Patch)
  2. According to WSOC Charlotte, "On Jan. 3, the Mooresville Board of Commissioners is scheduled to [meet at 6 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall] consider rezoning and annexation requests for a 96.8-acre site off Transco Road. The approvals are being sought by Alabama-based LIV Development, which is proposing a project with hundreds of residential units on the waterfront. The developer is seeking a rezoning with conditions that would allow up to 579 residential units and set aside at least half an acre for a waterfront restaurant use, town documents state. The proposed project includes a range of housing types, including 353 multifamily units, 136 townhomes and 90 duplexes, according to a site plan available in town records. (WSOC Charlotte)
  3. When you're in the market for a new place, hunting down every new listing in the area can be a tedious task. That's why we here at Patch have stepped in and done the initial work for you. Here are the five most recent properties to go up for sale in and near the Mooresville area — such as a house in the Troutman area with 3 beds and 3 baths for $319,900, and another with 5 beds and 3 baths for $410,000.(Mooresville Patch)
