Snow Surprise: NC Could See Winter Weather This Week

MOORESVILLE, NC — After a weekend filled with sunshine and mild temperatures, the Charlotte-metro and Lake Norman region are about to return to the realities of winter, with a round of winter weather by the end of the week that could include snow or a wintry mix, according to forecasters.

The work week kicks off with daily highs in the mid to upper 50s through Wednesday, however temperatures will begin to cool off by Thursday, when the high is expected to reach only 44 degrees.

Wet weather will move into the region Friday night and will stick around through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. “Temperatures may be cold enough for the precipitation to fall as snow or a wintry mix. However, there is quite a bit of uncertainty with this system regarding timing, location of wintry precipitation, and precipitation amounts,” NWS said in a bulletin Monday.
