Suspect Identified In Attempted Car Break-Ins In Mooresville

Mooresville police have identified Joshua Dewone Wilson, 21, as the suspect wanted for several vehicle break-in attempts in Muirfield.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Police say they now know the identity of a suspect wanted for attempting to break into vehicles in Mooresville’s Muirfield Subdivision last week after they received several tips from the community, Mooresville Police Department said Wednesday.

Earlier this week, MPD asked for the public’s help identifying a suspect, who they say is one of three caught on surveillance cameras casing vehicles in the neighborhood June 21. Officers were dispatched to the neighborhood shortly before 3 a.m. after a resident spotted two males walking through their yard, attempting to open vehicles parked outside the home.

The homeowner confronted the suspects, and they ran away, MPD said.
