Vehicle Theft Suspect Charged After Mooresville Crash: MPD
Suspects believed to be attempting vehicle break-ins were working in tandem on Kistler Farm Road, driving two stolen vehicles, police said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A Charlotte man was arrested Wednesday morning after he crashed a stolen car he was driving during a predawn police chase following vehicle break-in reports in Coddle Creek and Kistler Farm neighborhoods, according to Mooresville Police Department.
According to MPD, police received calls shortly before 4 a.m. reporting suspicious people and vehicles in Coddle Creek and Kistler Farm neighborhoods. “Witnesses stated several suspects were attempting to gain entry in numerous vehicles,” MPD said.
When officers responded, they spotted two suspicious vehicles on Kistler Farm Road, “driving tandem.” Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, however neither vehicle would stop, prompting two separate police pursuits.

Kenneth J. Davis, 18 and of Charlotte, crashed the stolen Dodge Journey on Faith Road at Highway 115. It had been stolen hours earlier from a Mooresville location, police said. Davis was taken into custody and charged with motor vehicle theft, resisting/obstructing a law enforcement officer and speeding to elude arrest. Additional charges may also be filed, MPD said.
Police chased the second vehicle — a Honda Accord that was reported stolen in Charlotte March 26 — to Concord, where the occupants ran from the car after hitting an object with the vehicle.

“Concord police utilized K-9s to track the suspects wbut were unsuccessful,” MPD said.
MPD said the investigation into the breaking & entering of vehicles, as well as additional vehicle thefts reported Wednesday and determining the identity of the other suspects involved remains ongoing.
