• Woman charged with attempted murder in Brunswick County (starnewsonline.com subscription) — Navassa residents should know that deputies responded early May 10 to an assault call on Old Cedar Loop Road that led to a Leland woman being charged with attempted first-degree murder. Authorities say the victim is from Wilmington, and related misdemeanor assault charges involving both women are scheduled for a June 29 court hearing.
