• 4-Year-Old Emma Jacobs Allegedly Raped, Beaten & Tied Up Before Dying In Raeford Home (thencbeat.com) — Raeford residents are learning more about a tragic case where 4-year-old Emma Jacobs was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead in a home on Chantily Road, with Hoke County deputies discovering guns and drugs inside. A man at the home faces unrelated drug and firearm charges, but no one has yet been charged in the child’s death as investigators await autopsy results. 
• 2 men arrested in Hoke County drug bust; DPS counselor found with marijuana in her car: Sheriff (cbs17.com) — Hoke County deputies say a drug investigation near Raeford led to two men being arrested after marijuana and suspected fentanyl were found in a vehicle and a College Drive home. A separate traffic stop uncovered marijuana in a car driven by a state juvenile court counselor, with all three facing court dates in June and July.
