- Raleigh officials confirmed that 35,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled near Neuse River. Officials said that the cleanup operations have continued after Raleigh Water Department crews were notified about the spill. Crews found an active sewer overflow from a manhole upon arrival to the area off of Falls of Neuse Road, about 200 feet from the river. Approximately 34,800 gallons of sewage reached a tributary off of the Neuse Basin. (CBS17)
- Delays and cancellations at RDU persist ahead of the holiday weekend. On Monday, more than a dozen flights were cancelled with hundreds across the country cancelled due to weather and staffing shortages. RDU says that it is seeing passenger traffic close to pre-pandemic levels, and leading airport officials believe demand is back to normal. Memorial Day weekend also saw above-average delays and cancelations. (WRAL)

One Raleigh pastor led his church on Sunday, speaking to his excitement at the overturn of Roe v. Wade, while another church hosted a service on Monday night to "grieve and mobilize" in response to the decision. (Spectrum News 1) The Pastor of St. Johns Metropolitan Community Church is also working to make the church is known as an affirming church, as it works to create a safe space for LGBTQ youth as mental health declines. - The Raleigh Police Department is looking for public assistance identifying two suspects involved in an assault at the Mojito Lounge. The incident took place on April 2 at approximately 1:40 a.m. The suspects engaged in an argument with the victim before striking him with a beer bottle. The victim's identity has not been released and anyone who may be able to ID the suspect is asked to call Raleigh CrimeStoppers. (CBS17)

Madison Jay was born and raised in Raleigh and Alicia Marie was originally from New York, but has lived in Durham for half her life.
