Investigators tied him to deaths in Raleigh and Cary in 2023 and seized several drugs, firearms, and cash from his apartment, as local and federal agencies coordinated under Operation Take Back America.

Frankie Lemmon School Plans Major Expansion in North Raleigh (midtownmag.com) β Frankie Lemmon School is planning a major move to a new two-building campus on Atlantic Avenue in North Raleigh, dramatically expanding space for inclusive education. Construction is slated to start in 2027, with the larger facility expected to more than double capacity to over 230 students and bring the school, Lemmon Tree Academy, and the foundation together by fall 2028.

After numerous delays, Raleigh's 'annoying' Atlantic Avenue widening reaches completion (cbs17.com) β Atlantic Avenue's long-delayed widening between New Hope Church Road and Highwoods Boulevard in Raleigh is finally complete, bringing new lanes, sidewalks, a median, and a Brammer Drive traffic signal. After years of shifting closures and backups, drivers now get safer turn lanes and a multi-modal path, with the city already eyeing a future extension toward Six Forks Road.

4. N.C. Plant Conservation Board to meet Oct. 21 (ncagr.gov) β Raleigh residents can sit in on the N.C. Plant Conservation Board's October 21 meeting at the Steve Troxler Agricultural Science Center on Reedy Creek Road or join virtually by Teams. The board will cover land conservation, stewardship work, and regulations protecting North Carolina's endangered and threatened plant species.

MrBeast turns struggling Raleigh mall into viral playground with new video (newsobserver.com) β Triangle Town Center in North Raleigh just got a viral spotlight when YouTuber MrBeast filmed a stunt-filled Instagram video there, leaping from the second floor and crashing through a fake storefront. The appearance delighted some mall workers and briefly boosted attention for the struggling shopping center, which has faced store closures, declining foot traffic, and a lingering reputation challenge.
