Here are the top stories today in Raleigh:

  1. Some parents in Wake County received alerts that warned of possible worker shortages in their school's cafeterias on Tuesday. Thanks to the support of parents, community members, and other locals, every Wake County Public School student received lunch in spite of the cafeteria "sick-out" worker protests. (abc11)
  2. This Saturday Raleigh will be welcoming THE RINK to downtown as a new Raleigh holiday tradition. The ice skating rink is presented by UNC Health at the Red Hat Amphitheater and will run from November 20 through January 1. (abc11)
  3. The Raleigh City Council discussed changes to its food truck and mobile vendor rules yesterday. Food trucks in the city must comply with 15 standards regarding their geography, proximity, and nuisance abatement. Some of the changes could allow food trucks to operate in more locations, or add A-frame style signage. (CBS17)
  4. A Raleigh real estate developer has pled guilty to playing a role in defrauding investors for more than $1.5 million. Joshua Matthew Houchins has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, 3 years of supervised release, and to pay $1.7 million in restitution to victims. (Spectrum News 1)
  5. Community Preservation Partners (CPP) Housing has acquired the Chandler Ridge Apartments for $26 million. CPP purchased the 228 unit community to preserve the communities affordability. The community will also undergo a renovation. (Market Screener)
