Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club

An evening of rhythm, flavor and timeless charm awaits at the Washington Duke Inn &amp; Golf Club’s recently reimagined Fairview Dining Room, where guests can soak in the groovy, soulful sounds of 1960s Motown at this AAA Four Diamond destination nestled on Duke University’s scenic campus. “Sweet Soul Revival: 60s Motown” invites guests into an evening of vibrant energy and feel-good rhythm, featuring the legendary hits of Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder and James Brown that defined a generation. 
Hosted in the Inn’s award-winning Fairview Dining Room from 5-8 p.m., a live DJ from Hunky Dory Durham will spin vinyl throughout the night, while a dedicated listening station lets guests experience the era’s iconic grooves up close. Alongside the music, guests will savor a thoughtfully curated menu and a themed cocktail inspired by the era, with limited edition, vintage-inspired pricing — offered exclusively for the evening in celebration of the event and as a nod to the Motown era — featuring a specialty entrée and dessert for $25 and a $10 cocktail. The full Fairview Dining Room menu will also be available at regular pricing. 
The 1960s musical experience is part of the “Vintage Vibes” Vinyl Listening Series – a weekly program hosted by the Inn, immersing guests in the rhythm and culture of various musical eras in a refined, social atmosphere:&nbsp;

This month's performance is Butler Knowles presents Country &amp; Western. Country &amp; Western is the latest project from Triangle stalwart Butler Knowles, who sets his usual bass aside to showcase the pedal steel guitar. This newly formed group delivers modern sounds derived from classic structures. This event is free to attend and open to all. Free parking is located in the deck across the street at 3150 Elion Drive. When you arrive, walk through the outdoor breezeway to the courtyard and you will see the stage.

We're sad to say goodbye to our friends at Funguys Brewing with a tribute tap takeover. This beloved mom-and-pop craft brewery may have closed its taproom doors but we're still pouring the fun, flavor forward ales and lagers they're known for.
Carly and Nick Brango opened the taproom and brewery in midtown Raleigh in April of 2018. In 2022, readers of The News &amp; Observer voted Funguys Brewing as their favorite brewery and they've been churning out great brews since. With all beer brewed under the strict supervision of their sweet, sassy, belly rub loving dog, Daisy, they've been a local favorite for years.

Senior living communities answer many important needs: •	Nutrition: 3 meals a day with no dishes to wash. •	Safety: Front door opens into the hallway of the community. Help with meds. •	Transportation: Community provides transportation to medical appointments, shopping and outings. •	Social: Familiar company at meals. A variety of activities including gardening, crafts and music. Which senior living community best fits her needs? Which senior living communities will accept her? Which senior living options are affordable? The average cost of assisted living $5,500 per month. Who pays? (Hint: not Medicare.) What happens to the house? the contents? How best may a family stay informed of her status?
