- The long awaited celebration of NC State's Class of 2020 was held on Saturday in Reynolds Coliseum. Last year the commencement ceremony was held virtually due to coronavirus concerns. - An Instagram page has emerged that pokes fun at the insanity of the housing market. The Instagram account @zillowgonewild highlights some of the insane listings found across the country, including many listings from North Carolina. The "Star Wars House" from Raleigh was featured, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time until the "Hobbit House" makes it's way there. (WRAL)
- A driver died in a crash on Interstate 440 near Six Forks Road on Saturday afternoon. The driver was traveling alone and lost control of the vehicle, hitting a guardrail, and flipping over it into the woods. Two of the four westbound lanes were closed near Exit 8 for several hours while crews tried to clear the scene. Authorities have not released the name of the individual who passed. (WRAL)
- On Saturday afternoon a woman was carjacked outside of a Lowe's Foods. The carjacker who was unarmed threatened the woman and stole her vehicle. The suspect wrecked the vehicle along US 401 at Ligon Mill Road and Mitchell Mill Road, and fled into nearby woods. Police pursued the suspect on foot and were able to capture him. No one was injured. (CBS17, WRAL)
- Wake County and Cary First Christian Church teamed up to provide a COVID-19 testing and vaccine clinic on Saturday. Senior pastor Mycal Brickhouse hopes that the clinic helps spread awareness and get more people vaccinated. The location was also offering booster shots to eligible individuals.
