Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School Donates 800 Pounds of Food
Kindergarten students hosted the schoolwide food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in Raleigh recently donated 800 pounds of food to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. Kindergarten students hosted the schoolwide food drive to collect nonperishable food and other essential items to stock the food bank’s shelves. In addition to collecting items, students also raised more than $350 in monetary donations for the food bank to help provide meals to local families in need. At the close of the drive, Chesterbrook Academy parent volunteers delivered the donations to the food bank’s facility in Raleigh. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to the community and helping others, especially during the holiday season.
