Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Students Donate 200 Pounds of Food

Students held a food drive for Backpack Buddies, an Inter-Faith Food Shuttle program that provides children in need with meals

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on West Millbrook Road in Raleigh recently held a food drive in partnership with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, a nonprofit organization that helps recover and distribute food and other supplies to low income families within a seven-county area of central North Carolina. Students collected over 200 pounds of nonperishable food items, which Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will use to fill backpacks for its Backpack Buddies program. The backpacks will provide children from low-income households with nutritious child-friendly groceries for the weekend, when school lunches and breakfasts are not provided. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping others in their community.
