Chesterbrook Academy Principal Named K-12 Principal of the Year

The K-12 Principal of the Year award is presented annually to the principal who stands out for inspiring and motivating students and staff

Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in Cary announced today that Principal Jeffrey Whitt has been named K-12 Principal of the Year by its parent organization, Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. (NLCI). Whitt received the honor at NLCI’s annual principal conference, which was held last month in Las Vegas.

“I’m honored to be recognized, but I see this award as a true reflection of our entire team at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School – including our staff, students and families. Our commitment to excellence in education, school-to-home connections and community outreach has taken our school to new limits and fostered incredible growth,” said Whitt. “I owe much appreciation to my mentor, Nathan Horton, and our executive director, Tina Hubbard, for continuously teaching me how to be an effective, consistent and dedicated leader each day.”

The K-12 Principal of the Year award is presented annually to the principal who stands out among NLCI's schools across the country for inspiring and motivating both students and staff. Whitt was honored for his ability to enhance communication among the administration and faculty, as well as students and their families. In his time at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School, Whitt has worked to develop a relationship with every student, maintain communication to ensure families feel welcomed and included in the learning process, and create practices that celebrate and honor diversity. In addition, Whitt was recognized for cultivating a creative learning environment for students by updating the facilities to include the creation of an Innovation Lab, a new playground structure and outdoor classroom.
