Chesterbrook Academy Students Give Back During Holiday Season

Students donated 690 pounds of food, more than $800 and 50 toys to local organizations that help families in the community

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in Raleigh recently held initiatives to collect food, toys and monetary donations to benefit families in the community. Students hosted a food drive and collected 690 pounds of nonperishable food items for the Food Bank of Central and East North Carolina. The school’s running club participated in the Arthritis Foundation’s annual Jingle Bell Run and raised $875 for the nonprofit. Chesterbrook Academy also held a breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, where students collected more than 50 toys for young patients at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center. Through their efforts, students learned the importance of giving back to others, especially during the holiday season.
