Here are the top stories in Raleigh today:
- Hundreds of runners gathered in downtown Raleigh for the 2021 edition of the city's hometown race on Sunday morning. Runners enjoyed the brisk fall weather and ended with a celebration party. (abc11)
- The COVID-19 vaccinations that have been approved for children are in high demand. Of the more than 1,500 appointments available, only 10 slots were open as of Sunday night. Thousands of additional vaccinations will become available over the next few weeks. (WRAL)
- 20 Students from High Point University traveled to Raleigh to advocate for issues they chose at the State Legislature. The students spent the semester researching their topics, and took to Oak City for a hands on civics lesson. (highpoint.edu)
- One woman was wounded in a parking lot shooting in Raleigh on Sunday night. Police said that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening and they do not have a suspect at this time. (CBS17)
- The infrastructure bill that congress approved on Friday will bring hundreds of millions of dollars to North Carolina. The money will help repair highways and bridges and expand broadband access in low-income and rural communities. (WRAL)
