1. After a whirlwind of activity in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, candidate filing for the US House, NC Senate, and NC House elections is back on. After the three-judge panel paused the filings, the full NC Court of Appeals has vacated the temporary halt. (WataugaOnline)
2. Raleigh-based Stephanie Michelsen, cofounder and CEO of Jellatech has ranked as one of Forbes '30 under 30' for 2022. The team at Jellatech uses biotechnology to synthesize animal proteins like collagen and gelatin without animals. (TechWire)
3. A Raleigh woman is warning pet owners in the area against allowing their pets to drink from Falls Lake after her dog died from blue-green algae poisoning. Dr. David Dorman, a Professor of Toxicology at NCSU's College of Veterinary Medicine says the blue-green algae bacteria grows in warm weather and can look like paint or scum on the surface of the water. 4. Police have arrested two people in relation to the death of Christopher Davis who was found inside a southeast Raleigh home on Sunday. Tevin Terrell Campbell has been charged with murder and Taliyah Johnson has been charged with accessory after the fact. (CBS17)
5. Raleigh Police are continuing their speed crackdowns. As of Friday, RPD has undergone a "saturated patrol" with the Wake County Sheriff's Office and NC Highway Patrol. The police department is also beginning a citywide school bus initiative that will have units follow school buses from school to catch drivers who ignore stopped busses. (abc11)
