Today we had a bit more to chew on than yesterday. News including ATM robberies, a bill to protect 911 dispatchers, dispelling rumors for the Sheriff's Office, and more. Enjoy all that and more below.

Here are the top stories in Raleigh today:
- Over the weekend, two pickup trucks were stolen and used to try to break into stolen ATMs. The first stolen pickup truck was used to steal a Coastal Credit Union ATM on Saturday after being taken off of Varnell Avenue. The truck sustained an estimated $1,000 in damage when the suspect tried to use it to break the ATM open. The second instance happened Sunday with a truck stolen from High Point, and used to steal another Coastal Federal Credit Union ATM. (WNCT9)
- The NC State Fair has announced it will be hosting a sensory friendly day with reduced sound and light. The event will be October 17 from 9:00 am - noon and will be tailored towards children and adults on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorders. The fair will have a special "chill out zone," adult changing stations, and adjustments to the typical music and lights. (WRAL)
- A new bill in the NC General Assembly aims to give legal protections to 911 dispatchers in the state. Other first responders already have legal protections against civil lawsuits, and lawmakers hope that this move can help improve their mental health and peace of mind. The bill has passed the NC Senate and is expected to make it through the House with no issues. (CBS17)
- Wake County sheriff Gerald Baker called a last minute press conference to address rumors of an investigation and looming indictments. Baker gave less than an hour's notice for the 5:30 pm address, and denied all allegations in his 20 minute conference. Baker spoke with the "upper management," and stated that there was no type of misconduct allegations pending against the sheriffs department or Baker. (WNCT9)
- North Carolina based communications company, Bandwidth broke ground on its headquarters expansion off Edwards Mill Rd. The land was purchased from North Carolina's Department of Agriculture in a deal that hopes to create a future partnership with the company and the State Fair. Bandwidth is actually sponsoring the Accessibility Day mentioned above. (abc11)
