- Retired judge Elaine O'Neal was sworn in on Monday in a historic ceremony. O'Neal says that while she is excited to be sworn in, there are a lot of issues that need to be tackled, and she has been attending Durham City Council meetings to hear as much input as possible to help form a game plan. - After a whirlwind of activity in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, candidate filing for the US House, NC Senate, and NC House elections is back on. After the three-judge panel paused the filings, the full NC Court of Appeals has vacated the temporary halt. (WataugaOnline)
- Durham police are searching for the man who robbed a M&F Bank on Monday morning. (CBS17
- A Raleigh woman is warning pet owners against allowing their pets to drink from Falls Lake after her dog died from blue-green algae poisoning. Dr. David Dorman, a professor of Toxicology at NCSU's College of Veterinary Medicine says the blue-green algae bacteria grows in warm weather and can look like paint or scum on the surface of the water. - Durham County is seeing a large spike in resignations among its employees. The commissioner attributes it to burnout from the pandemic as the "mass exodus" spans all departments. (WRAL)
