Here are the top stories in Raleigh today:

  1. Wake County officials are asking residents to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment in order to analyze the current health and well-being of the county. Leaders say they will use the survey to identify the greatest needs and create an action plan to address those needs. This Survey can be completed until December 3. (CBS17)
  2. Yesterday, Wake County held a livestream American Rescue Plan Act Q&A session as they are now taking applications for some of the $217 million received from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds. Wake County Board of Commissioners put aside $20 million to support nonprofit organizations in Wake County that will help aid in COVID-19 recovery. (CBS17)
  3. Raleigh police are investigating a series of robberies that took place on Monday. Seven total incidents were reported from 12:51 pm until 11:16 pm. Detectives are trying to determine how many of the robberies were related. (abc11)
  4. Two individuals were victims of shootings on Monday night. One man was left with non-life threatening injuries in a neighborhood east of downtown around 7:45. (CBS17) 20-year-old Shyquan Jones was killed in a shooting just before midnight on Benson Drive, just off Wake Forest Road. (abc11)
  5. North Carolina education leaders are concerned that more than 150 North Carolina schools will lose Wi-Fi access without a new state budget. The Department of Public Instruction needs another $4.6 million in order to continue funding the wireless internet in schools that include charter schools and schools that focus on serving students with special needs. (WCNC)
