Islamic Relief USA to hold ‘Skate for Syria’ event on March 25

Event will raise money to provide humanitarian aid

Islamic Relief USAs 4th annual “Skate for Syria” event will take place on March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Jellybeans Super Skate Center of Cary, located at 1120 Buck Jones Road, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“What makes Skate for Syria a special fundraising event is that it provides an opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy a group activity for a good cause.” said Alaa Mohamed, Event Coordinator at IRUSA.

The skating event will help raise money for IRUSA’s aid efforts in Syria, which has been consumed by civil war for the past seven years. A bloody insurgency and internal displacements have followed, with recent news focusing on attacks in the Easter Ghouta region.

IRUSA recently set up a campaign to raise money for humanitarian assistance. “Skate for Syria” is another way to call attention, and action, to the humanitarian crisis that presently exists there.

It is a valuable opportunity to raise money for an important cause, as well as to spend quality-filled time with family and friends.
