Ken Spaulding to Lead Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance

Former N.C. House of Representatives member to serve as featured speaker on day of remembrance

WHAT:
In celebration and remembrance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends Inc. is hosting a gathering in Goldsboro to reflect on the great life and lasting legacy of Dr. King. Attorney Ken Spaulding will lead the ceremony, serving as the headlining speaker for the event. Spaulding, a former Democratic candidate for Governor of North Carolina, is a practicing land use attorney who has helped to bring over $2 billion dollars of investment into the State of North Carolina. He served in the North Carolina House of Representatives for six years, where he became Chairman of the North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus. Spaulding also served as Chairman of the Durham Committee On the Affairs of Black People. Throughout his career he has been featured on lists among powerful leaders and top business people to watch and has worked with well-known members of the legal community, such as former attorney Johnny Cochran.

Kenneth Spaulding is a North Carolina native from Durham, and a practicing attorney in the state for more than 45 years. He is a graduate of Howard University, and graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor Degree.
