Here are the top five stories today in Raleigh:
- Wake County will be holding a meeting Tuesday to discuss how to spend its share of the national $26 billion opioid settlement. Last year, nearly 200 people died in Wake County as a result of overdoses. County leaders, healthcare workers and those experiencing addiction will discuss the best way to use the money. If you are interested in attending you can register here. The Tuesday public brainstorming session will be the first step of decision making that is expected to be finalized in September. (ThePulse)

- Local home services company, Michael & Son, donated HVAC systems to two families during a Durham Bulls Game. The company surprised the two families on field during the Saturday game. Both families were nominated to receive the units by friends of families after struggling without heat and AC. One recipient is a single mother caring for her special needs child after the death of her husband, the other served in the military and was a former member of the Durham Negro League. (WRAL)
