  1. City council member Nicole Steward announced on Tuesday that she will not be seeking reelection. Although Steward received more votes than anyone on the council in 2019, including Mayor Baldwin, she stated that she believes "now is the right time to let the next leader step up." (INDY Week)
  2. On Monday, Wake County Public Health expanded its COVID-19 vaccine to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to receive booster shots at any of Wake County's five public clinics or any provider that offers the vaccine. (Spectrum News 1)
  3. An armed robbery took place in broad daylight, at around 9:45 am on Tuesday, at the Fifth Third Bank on Creedmoor Road. Police did not disclose if any money was stolen, but no one was injured after a teller complied with the robbers demands. (WRAL)
  4. Raleigh police are also investigating a four-person robbery that took place at a sweepstakes parlor around 12:49 am on Tuesday. When officers arrived at the scene, a security guard had been shot, and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. (CBS17)
  5. Although Wake County plans to expand its free COVID-19 testing in schools in the near future, only 4% of those currently eligible have enrolled. A spokeswoman for the school district says it is not concerned with the low participation because the program is not intended to reduce COVID cases on campus. (WRAL)
