Here are the top stories in Raleigh today:
- Habitat for Humanity is working to build a new "Old Poole Place," a neighborhood that will house 60 single-family homes and 45 townhomes for lower-income residents. - The Cary Police Department responded to an illegal burn around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, but discovered human remains among the debris of the fire pit. Police were unable to determine the race or gender of the remains due to the condition. Cary police said that the couple was living in the RV while their home was undergoing renovations. (abc11, WRAL)
- A social media post has been circulating, after a woman claims to have overheard Raleigh Chick-fil-A employees expressing they did not want to hire a woman due to her "natural hair." According to the guest, she was dining at Chick-fil-A at Capital Crossing, and was seated near an interview. After it concluded, the HR manager and another woman reportedly discussed the interview and pointed out that the girl’s "natural hair" was unprofessional. The post has been reshared to the location's Facebook Page with many referring to the City of Raleigh's adoption of the Wake County nondiscrimination ordinance. The Chick-fil-A owner responded to the woman who overheard the incident, claiming they said her "belly shirt" was unprofessional. (Hip-Hopvibe)
