- Gov. Roy Cooper has announced that he will be directing $51.4 million to help students across North Carolina. A majority will go to helping students access college and earn degrees with the remainder put into mental health initiatives in postsecondary institutions and equity focused initiatives for k-12 and postsecondary students and families. - Highway Patrol will be doing seatbelt checks throughout the state through Memorial Day Weekend. They will be issuing fines up to $180 per adults and $266 for children under 16. (WFMY)
- Willie Nelson has announced that the 2021 Outlaw Music Festival will be stopping by Raleigh NC. Tickets go on sale Thursday the 27th to the general public at 10am. (Brooklyn Vegan)
- As many NC Advanced Practice Nurses are nearing retirement, concern for who will replace them grows. There is now a collaboration of businesses pushing for legislation that would lift rules requiring doctor supervision for APRNs. (Patch)
- Rumors were spreading that one of the leading defensive centers in the country would be leaving NC State to play at Georgetown. Fear not, Manny Bates was spotted among NC State's Basketball team outing, culling the rumor of a nightmarish transfer. (ACC Sports)
