- Police are investigating a homicide near North Carolina State University at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The victim was found around 10pm and was rushed to the hospital where he passed away. Witnesses saw two men and a woman leave the scene in a lifted pickup truck and a black or blue sedan. (WRAL)
- A bill in Raleigh is pushing for equal access to organ donations regardless of disability. Without House Bill 642, doctors and nurses can continue to prioritize care and critical organs to individuals who they determine to have a better quality of life. If the bill passes individuals with down syndrome and other disabilities will be able to receive the same care and attention as other patients in need of transplants. (WNCT9)
- Bars and Restaurants are packed this Memorial Day weekend. Business owners say that its a step to get back to normal and they are grateful for the increase in traffic. (CBS17)
- Pools in the Raleigh area are having to limit capacity due to a lifeguard shortage. Because of the intimate nature of lifeguarding, there were very few certifications being held during the pandemic and now many recreational facilities don't have enough lifeguards to run at full capacity. One facility is even offering free certification with promise to come work for them. (CBS17)
- Another Raleigh man was found with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning. It was estimated to have taken place just after 6am on Capital Boulevard. The man has been transported to the hospital for treatment. (abc11)
