Preschoolers in Raleigh raised $21,000 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help fight childhood cancer

Community Event

The Learning Experience®, the nation’s fastest growing Academy of Early Education for children six weeks to six years old, in Raleigh raised $21,000 during its second annual fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. To date, the Raleigh center has raised over $30,000 through its fundraisers and plans to continue to work with St. Baldrick's Foundation to impact the lives of children.

As part of the Academy’s one-of-a-kind philanthropy curriculum, more than 250 community members participated in the charity’s signature head-shaving event at The Learning Experience in Raleigh, which helps fund the volunteer-powered charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. This year's event, dubbed “The Learning Experience Raleigh 4 Cancer Free 2017,” was open to the community and included several activities such as magic shows, wrestling matches, live music and book readings.

The Foundation’s signature event shows support for children with cancer who often lose hair during treatment and inspiring donations to support childhood cancer research. “Shavees” took their turn in the barber’s chair under the skillful hands of professional hair stylists who came together for this life-changing experience.
