  2. The City of Raleigh has committed to several road projects that will improve safety and reduce congestion, but the cost of inflation is hindering progress. The city is citing the increasing construction costs and rising real estate values. (WRAL)
  3. Last year, the City of Raleigh set aside $325,000 to study possible solutions to the traffic in the Five Points area. In the last 4 years, there have been 248 crashes that left 74 injured and 1 dead. A kickoff meeting for the study is scheduled for April 19 from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Hayes Barton Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Until a more permanent solution is found, the city has deployed more police with radar guns to catch speeders and installed lights to alert drivers to slow down. (CBS17)
  4. A ramp lane on the Triangle Expressway was closed after the discovery of a body around 7:00am Thursday. The ramp near Exit 56-B to U.S. Highway 1 was closed until around 9:00am while authorities investigated the death. No other information has been made available to the public at this time. (WRAL)
  5. The Biden administration has decided to extend the mask mandate for transportation until May 3. CBS17 spoke to patrons of GoRaleigh and Amtrak, and found that a majority of those polled were happy to see the requirement continue.
