Here are the top five stories today in Raleigh:

  1. Raleigh's Pullen Park is among the top 16 finalists for the Engaging Local Government Leaders' best places in local government. The entry states that "Pullen Park is one of the most unique historic sits among the offerings in the region." The park celebrates its 135th anniversary this year. (WRAL)
  2. At 9:30pm, a vehicle crashed into a home on Ramsgate Street in Raleigh. Raleigh police responded to the scene to find that the driver fled the scene. The driver later returned to the scene and was arrested. (CBS17)
  3. This weekend has shown a positive sign of what's to come in Raleigh. There were several weekend events that have helped drive tourism back into the area. The Playthrough Gaming Convention returned to the Raleigh Convention Center for the first time since the pandemic's start and reported around 4,000 ticket sales. Wake County is anticipating another 44,000 people visiting Raleigh for spring and summer events. (abc11, More about NCAA: CBS17)
  4. Raleigh police are investigating a shooting that took place on Saturday afternoon on Rush Street. The victim's vehicle was found roughly two miles away on Idlewood Village Drive. Police are working to understand the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The victim's condition is unknown at this time. (WRAL)
  5. A woman in Garner was found unconscious on Saturday night following an attack. The woman suffered injuries to her abdomen and was transported to the hospital for treatment. It is unclear if the injuries were related to a shooting or stabbing. (CBS17)
