Here are the top four stories in Raleigh today:
- On Monday, police confirmed a robbery in Raleigh that took place at the Wells Fargo off Glenwood Avenue and W. Millbrook Road. Details regarding the suspect and amount stolen have not been released at this time. The robbery was reported to police around 12:10 p.m., via the bank's alarm company. (CBS17)
- The Wake County Board of Commissioners was scheduled to vote on the 2023 fiscal year budget Monday evening. The budget proposal includes the first county property tax increase in three years. The tax increase would be used for general funds and would generate an additional $29 million to help with things like staffing and increasing pay. (WRAL)
- The Browne family is celebrating as they have gotten back their stolen camper, with help from the community. Someone contacted them following the shooting when they noticed a truck matching the description, burned on the side of the road in Franklin County. After contacting the company who owned the truck, they discovered that it had also been stolen, but the companies owner had GPS tracking to identify places it had been. (CBS17)
- As support for medical marijuana has led to a final vote in the North Carolina Senate to vote on a bill that would legalize it, some business owners are concerned it could mean the end for them. The bill is restrictive in nature, and calls for the state commission to approve 10 licenses for large out-of-state suppliers who would own and operate medical cannabis centers in the state. Some Senators voted against the bill because it would not allow local North Carolina hemp farmers to be able to partake in the industry. (CBS17)
