I should have known better than to think that yesterday was uneventful. Yesterday's recap was basically the calm before the news break. Today's news includes a dog attack, a fire that hospitalized firefighters, a demonstration downtown, and more. Check it all out below.

Here are the top stories in Raleigh today:
- A father and son, as well as two other individuals were attacked by dogs in North Raleigh on Sunday afternoon. Cyril Alhaj Chesson was charged with attack by dangerous dog and cited with animal at large. One of the victims, a 10-year-old boy was playing outside when two large Rottweilers were running nearby and pounced on him. The boy's father came to his defense and stabbed a dog prompting them to run away. The dogs have been captured by authorities, and the boy as well as the other two victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. (CBS17)
- Police are investigating after a walk-in gunshot victim arrived at WakeMed around 2:07 am Monday. Police told news sources that the victim was shot three times in the Stony Brook North Mobile Home Park, and is not cooperating with investigators. The gun shots resulted in non-life threatening injuries. RPD asks for anyone with more information to contact CrimeStoppers and pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases. (CBS17)
- Raleigh North Carolina has joined the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Associations and other organizations' heatmapping campaign. The campaign is led by volunteers to help identify temperature variance in different neighborhoods by car, bike, and foot. Sensors monitor temperature, humidity, time, and location to collect information on a variety of different geographical areas in Raleigh. The data collection will help accurately issue heat advisories and determine how we can change the environment to keep quality of life. (Spectrum News 1)
- A house fire on Cadmore Court resulted in firefighters needing to be taken to the hospital on Sunday evening. The fire required 60 firefighters about an hour to get under control. At least one firefighter had to be taken to the hospital for heat-related illness. The fire destroyed about two-thirds of the house leaving it unfit for living, however all residents evacuated without injury. (CBS17, WRAL)
- A crowd of over 50 gathered for an hour in Downtown Raleigh on Monday to demand an end to poverty and voter suppression. The group met outside Senator Thom Tillis' office with signs, chants, and speeches. The group's primary demands included ending the filibuster, restoring the 1965 Voting Rights Act, and raising the federal minimum wage to $15. Tillis' office released a statement following the demonstration that stated he was adamantly opposed to the abovementioned agenda. (CBS17)

So, just a little tidbit about me, when someone mentions a food I love, I want it so bad. I genuinely went out and got hotdogs on national hotdog day, and man... I want Crème Brûlée bad now.
