Check out some news regarding the heavy rain that we saw, an awesome man's effort to raise money for refugees, and efforts from Triangle organizations to shed light on domestic violence.

Here are the top stories today in Raleigh:
- Heavy rain in Raleigh and central North Carolina brought down trees and power lines on Saturday. Parts of Holly Springs Road and Campbell Road had to be closed down due to flooding and missing pavement. There were also 23 residents displaced from their townhomes off of Dana Drive. (abc11)
- Two women were wounded in a stabbing incident in the Glenwood South area early on Saturday. The incident was reported around 1:30 am, and officers arrived to find two women suffering from non-life threatening injuries. (CBS17)
- A Raleigh man is crafting wooden toys to fundraise for Afghan refugees. Bill Baxley taught himself wood turning after retiring in 2013. He is now giving refugee children a wooden top for every $25 donation to Welcome House. (Spectrum News 1)
- Although there was inclement weather, hundreds turned out for Artsplosure downtown on Saturday. This is the first Artsplosure event since the coronavirus pandemic hit, and artists traveled in from other states to partake. There were art instillations, live music, arts and crafts, and vendors selling. (CBS17)
- Organizations in the Triangle are working to bring awareness this Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Nisha Williams with the NC Coalition for Domestic Violence says that there are "a multitude of ways in which the abuser seeks to exercise power and control over the victim," and hopes they can help curb the stigma around the issue. (abc11)
