Here are the top five stories today in Raleigh:
- The City of Raleigh is scheduled to begin construction on a new transit service later this year. The Wake Bus Rapid Transit: New Bern Avenue will connect downtown Raleigh with WakeMed and New Hope Road. The larger transit plan will cover 20 miles of transit lanes along four Bus Rapid Transit corridors in Wake County. (CBS17)
- Now that the Dreamville Festival has come and gone, organizers are able to provide a clearer picture regarding the outcome of the event. According to organizers, an estimated 80,000 people were in attendance last weekend, and vendors reported making a weeks profit during the two day event. Jolly's Catering and Events owner James Shufford served food in 2019 and last weekend and said that the turn out was much bigger this time around. (Spectrum News 1)
- A Raleigh Starbucks union leader is claiming that she was terminated due to union activity. The incident took place on February 13 when a sink came off of the wall during Sharon Gilman's shift. The termination came just days ahead of the union election for what Starbucks is claiming "intentional misuse of company property." A protest was held at the location due to the incident. (INDY Week, WRAL)
- Ukrainians in the Carolinas are reaching people in cities across Ukraine, thanks in large part to the donations the Triangle's Ukrainian community has received. Sunday they were able to ship out their third container load of medical supplies, clothing, and other basic needs. Organizer Olena Kozlova-Pates has shared photos and videos that have been sent to her showing the previous shipments making it to those in need. (CBS17)
- Cast members of ABC's daytime drama General Hospital treated fans to a day of photos and autograph signings in Raleigh on Saturday. Six of the cast members connected with fans and gave them an inside look into Port Charles. (abc11)

- It's National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day and Side Street not only has a toasted cheese sandwich, but also a pimento cheese sandwich which, if you ask me, is a grilled cheese that knew it could be more.
