Here are the top five stories today in Raleigh:
- The main runway at RDU was closed for more than 16 hours after a passenger jet skidded off the runway. Around 9:00 pm the flight landed safely, but while taxiing off it rolled into the mud. There were 19 passengers on board and all were able to make it off safe. (CBS17)
- The former director of the LGBT Center in Raleigh was suspended and then terminated after "unusual financial activity" was found on the non-profit's books. Lindsey Lughes served the center from 2019-2021. Following inquiries into the termination, interim director Dolph Goldenburg posted a statement addressing the termination, noting that a criminal investigation is underway. (WRAL)
- Although the snow created a beautiful scene across central North Carolina, it also caused a sharp increase in car accidents across the area. It appears as though none of the accidents have been fatal, but officials are emphasizing that if you need to travel, give yourself extra time to drive slowly and carefully. (WRAL, WBTW, abc11)
- Even with the snow making travel dicey, families still made it out to Dorthea Dix Park to enjoy the hills. The staff at Dorothea Dix Park handed out sleds so that everyone had the chance to slide down. Many families plan to head out for day two if the snow sticks and weather permits. (CBS17)
- Governor Roy Cooper and Attorney General Josh Stein filed an amicus brief in two cases urging the Supreme Court to ensure fair state elections. Governor Cooper stated in a press release that "The trial court recognized what has been obvious all along, that the legislative and congressional maps were intentionally gerrymandered." (FOX Carolina)

- If the snow sticks around, check out the best spots to go sledding in the Triangle. (WRAL)
- ABC's Chopper 11 captured aerial views of the Saturday Snow to show us all a bird's eye view. (abc11)
