Happy Veterans Day Raleigh!

First, today's weather:

Increasing cloudiness. High: 72 Low: 62.

Here are the top stories in Raleigh today:

  1. Two individuals were arrested near the campus of NC State University in connection with 14 robberies in the area on Tuesday. Jaronte Turner and an unnamed minor were arrested after a chase in a stolen Honda Civic ended in a crash. (abc11)
  2. Two Family Dollar stores in Raleigh are facing thousands of dollars in fines for overcharging shoppers. The state regularly inspects stores to see if the price listed on shelves matches what comes up at the register and if more than 2% of items in an inspection cost more than the price advertised, the store gets a warning. If the store fails the follow up it begins to receive fines. (CBS17)
  3. The Renaissance Park Homeowners Association announced that it will not be forcing any of the nearly 200 families who rent in the community to move. The HOA will allow rental agreements already in place to be grandfathered in, but it will not allow any new renters after the first of the year. (abc11)
  4. North Carolina's labor commissioner has told North Carolinians that the state will not be enforcing the Biden administration's mandate regarding vaccinations at large employers. Since a federal appeals court judge in Louisiana temporarily paused the mandate, the vaccination requirement will remain on hold while the legal case goes through the courts. (CBS17)
  5. The North Carolina Department of Transportation is working to address the traffic congestion on I-40 between Raleigh and Garner. The stretch between the US 70 Business exit at 306, and the I-440 split at exit 301 is undergoing construction, and frequent speeding accidents result in a major problem for commuters. (WRAL)
